Dans ce double album, le ténor actuel évoque ses propres souvenirs, célébrant le moment le plus festif de l'année avec une sélection unique de chants de Noël. Riche et varié, It's Christmas contient 40 titres reflétant les divers aspects de Noël, des chants traditionnels aux classiques pop contemporains. L'importante sélection de Kaufmann inclut bien sûr des chants traditionnels allemands, mais aussi un choix très personnel de classiques de la pop américaine comme Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!, Winter wonderland, Have yourself a merry little Christmas ou encore White Christmas. Il s'est entouré ici du Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, du Bachchor Salzburg et sur St. Florianer Sängerknaben, tous dirigés par Jochen Rieder, mais aussi du harpiste Florian Pedarnig et du Cologne Studio Big Band dirigé par Wieland Reissmann. Le trompettiste Till Brönner est également l'invité spécial de deux chansons.
